Ok, so you don't want to get drafted? Don't think we should invade more countries? Don't think we need a bigger government and more employees on tax money? These bills are the ones that people are talking about, if these are passed- then there WILL be a draft. It's in plain english.

"A bill to provide for the common defense by requiring that all young persons in the United States, including women, perform a period of military service or a period of civilian service in furtherance of the national defense and homeland security, and for other purposes."

Contact your senators and oppose the bill, S.89.

You can find your senators phone numbers at http://www.senate.gov

Next, contact your state representative and oppose bill H.163.

I say to call and oppose them, but you could also call and support them. I guess that if you want to support them you should really just go and enlist. I don't see any language in the bill that would let college kids get out of it.

6-18: Edit: there is some mention of deferment for education... but then it mentions "attains the age of 20" so you've really got to read the bill as it is written in the links above.

If you want to link to this page, feel free to do so. Also feel free to send this link to friends, put it in your livejournal, in your blog, your profile, wherever. We've got to act now.
