This is another shot from Concord. I was riding my bike and I came across an opening in a line of flowering trees with a bunch of industrial looking tanks behind them. I thought the contrast was interesting, so here it is.

Power soccer
I could really devote a whole website to power soccer. I’ve taken hundreds of pictures at games, and there might even be dozens that came out OK.

There are many more, but one of the disadvantages of a digital camera is that you can end up with so many to sort through that it takes you some time to post the good ones. I’ll keep looking and posting as I find them. If I was more vigilant about deleting the bad photos and gathering the really good ones, this would be easier.
Don't need a fancy camera
I took these before I got the new camera, but they’re cool too. I’m still not sure about an easy way to make some thumbnails, so you just need to click.

Snaps
I said I’d add some more photos, so here’s one: Snapshot
I didn’t resize it for a thumbnail this time. In this photo, Kendra is taking a picture of our friend Anh at a banquet after the bike ride we did to raise money for BORP. I used a special lens for this shot, a 50 mm Nikon lens with a wide aperture. It lets me get sharp pictures in low light, and produces a nice soft background if I’ve focused properly. I’m still getting the hang of that part.

Going through photos
Hi again. I can’t make many excuses about letting this blog go all to hell, but I guess that my best explanation is that for the past year and a half I was working as a contractor, and was concerned about what my blog might look like to potential longer-term employers. I really don’t know what I’ll be using this blog for, or if anyone will read it after being so long abandoned, but here it is.
My dad recently started blogging, his site is http://viridviews.com. Shout-out, Dad! I’ve seen him posting photos, and realized that I have over 2,000 photos on my laptop, just since I bought my new camera in October. Even after deleting many hundreds of photos of the cat, sunsets, and blurry things you can’t recognize, there are still a few left that might be worth sharing. Here’s one I took shortly after getting the camera:
This is a golf course that I used to ride past every day on my way to work. It really struck me one day how much water we use to keep parts of our state green and lush, when all you really have to do is look a little farther away to see how unnatural this is.
I’m trying to retain my original goal in this blog, if you look all the way back to when I started it, which was to strive to post only things that are on my mind, or that I consider genuinely interesting, and not just whether I am having a good or bad day, or what I had for lunch. I’d be jinxing it if I said this was going to be a regular thing, but here it goes.
