I got this message today, and I thought it was worth sharing.
Here’s a headline you don’t see everyday:
World’s Tallest Man Saves Plastic Eating Dolphins”
It sounds like the start of a joke, but I guess it’s for real. I always thought that having a title of “world’s tallest man” would be fairly useless, but in this case he ended up looking kind of like a super-hero.
I just saw this, and I thought that it might interest my readers:

I think I found a bike I’m interested in! We bought one of these at work (we’re taking it apart to re-use some pieces for a prototype), and it’s totally slick:

There’s no chain, so you don’t get your pants caught and you don’t get greasy. It’s an internal hub shifter, so there’s no risk of your chain falling off and getting messed up when you’re shifting. Overall, it looks like a really low maintenance bike that would make it faster to run out to the store for light shopping.
Here’s a wheelchair that can move in any direction:

It uses something called mecanum wheels. The main problem with it, so I’ve heard, is that it gives a really bumpy ride on smooth floors and it can’t handle carpet at all.
Here’s one with a tank tread for off-road terrain. I think it would also be fun for busting up urban areas that aren’t accessible, but should be:
I think we’ve all seen the Ibot, but I put a link here for those who haven’t. I saw a few of these in action at the Abilities Expo, and they’re definitely interesting. I believe that they could be quite practical for certain people, but like the first two- they’re not for everyone, and they’re not for every situation.
