Hey, I found my old webcam photos. Those of you who have been reading my site for a long time might remember that I used to regularly update a photo in a “webcam” section. It was just a random low resolution shot that I took during the day, and would often edit digitally.
Well, here they are in a new gallery:

Also, today I bought a pizza stone. I’m really happy with how it worked.
Hey, I was looking for stuff that would be helpful for me at work- you know, there’s a keypad on our device. I found this link, and I thought it would be super helpful for anybody designing a product with buttons:

Edit- this guy’s site seems to be a great read for any designer, check it out!
Another note to myself- check out this link:

The star of the show is the ACH-01 piezo accelerometer. It’s bandwidth is from 10 hz to 20 khz, so it’s useful for all kinds of audio applications. You can attach it to solid objects to pick up their vibrations, and use the output as a microphone signal to use any object as a musical instrument. One of my plans for these will be to learn more about vibration in things like speaker cabinets.
Note to self- 5/8″ ball screws are really cheap at McMaster Carr. They’re cheaper than any smaller or larger size. They have a 750 pound capacity, and claim to be significantly more accurate than acme lead screws.
I’m looking at these things as a possible source of motion for a project I’m working on.
