As SOON as I have some free time, I am going to play with THIS:

Wheelchair ramps!
Ok, so we found a great apartment, but it has three steps. I worked on a drawing last night and today, and I will need to go work out zoning with the city before I build anything.
An alternative is a modular ramp; it would get around zoning issues, and might be easier and faster to build.
The first company I called quoted $2,980 with delivery.

They said they buy them back from you if you only need them for a year or two, and the sales guy estimated that they’d give me about $1,000 for the ramp if we only use it for two years.
There are other companies I’m looking at-
This place seems to have the same thing for around $2,000. They don’t count shipping, and I didn’t talk to them.
Other options I haven’t had time to look at:

Technical Difficulties!
I’m in the process of transitioning to Wordpress, and if you saw my blog acting funny for a while today, that’s why.
Kendra and I got a lot of stuff done today, and saw a really sweet apartment. The location is close to campus and really quiet, and it’s large and beautiful and quiet inside and out. The only problem is there are three stairs to get into the place! We’re working on whether or not we can build a ramp. Apparently the city of Berkeley is nuts about zoning and building codes.
Shit.
We just got notice that we have until February 10th to move out. I am definitely glad that we got the 60 days notice put into our lease, and that we started looking for a place in early November.
so, certain people have been asking me what I want for christmas. I’m kind of busy lately, I called five apartments at lunch, saw one last night and a different one the night before that.
I just got word from my landlord that he hasn’t found a buyer yet, so we have at least another 60 days before we have to move. That helps a bit, but there’s really no peace of mind. I’m stressed.
What do I want for christmas? Eh… athletic pants for jogging, maybe tools. I need to think about it more.
