Well, I’ll be. I just saw this at yahoo news that the playstation 3 is supposed to be coming out in the spring, and will perform a sustained 2 TFLOPS.
Earlier I said on mike’s blog that it was fishy that the Xbox 2 would be able to do one TFLOP, since Virginia’s “Big Mac” cluster (with 1000 apple G5 nodes) only does 15 TFLOPS. Here, the article says Sony’s new unit does 1/8th of that.
