I had a really cool sandwich for lunch. It was tuna fish with avocado and wasabi mayo. I got curious about the nutritional value of avocado, so I looked it up. This is what I found:

That was a memorable spring break. That’s for sure- and those were some huge fish! I was just reading away messages and I saw this picture in Gabe’s profile. Ah, good times.

One of these days I need to get a hoodie. I really like the one Bri got me for christmas last year- I wore it a lot. It is a Carhart hoodie- honestly the best I’ve ever had. I think I left it in Illinois- if that’s the case, I should call home and ask them to send it. I’ve been wearing a T shirt since I got here, and it’s finally getting into the low 60s.

This is another one in berkeley!
http://www.craigslist.org/eby/apa/43493840.html
It’s a brand new apartment, and it seems like it’s got a really good chance of working. It looks like it actually caters to people with disabilities, and it’s much more affordable. I’m printing the application now.

THE APARTMENT HUNT CONTINUES
So, it turns out that neither of the apartments in Berkeley are options anymore. The bathroom is just too small in the one we can afford. The other would leave us with NO money at the end of the month, with me paying well over half the rent. That’s no good.
Craigslist has this:
It’s in the heart of The Mission- should be a fun part of town. Three blocks from the Bart, should be a shorter commute than I have now, but in a train instead of on foot. It’d be about 35 minutes train for Kendra to get to Berkeley. I’m going to check it out tomorrow.
I’m worried; it’s a tad expensive, and it could be really small. One bedroom could be ok, if it’s a LARGE one bedroom. But what are the odds of that? Geez, I guess I’ll just see what it’s like.

Before anyone asks, I did not feel the earthquake that happened at 10:15 this morning.
Also- this was way too cool not to blog about Escher For Real

A couple of things to rant about;
First of all- it looks like Kendra and I are going to have to pay $1,500/mo for our apartment. That’s bogus. It turns out that her housing subsidy does not transfer out of state- so things are going to be tight. We’re going to talk about it more later tonight, and tell them our decision tomorrow. The people at the apartment are also getting back to us about possibly lowering the rent. I really hope they do that.
Also- the coolest breakdancing move that I EVER saw anyone do was when this guy took a running leap across the floor- he must have gone 20 or 25 feet before he hit the ground. It was like one of those running dives that lifeguards do- you all remember that, don’t you? Except this dude landed on his shoulder, and bounced.
The crazy thing was the bounce. He popped up in the air at least two, maybe three feet- but he had been spinning as he fell and flew through the air, and as he bounced, it was like his direction of rotation suddenly reversed and slowed down. I’m not sure how he bounced so high off his shoulder, but it had to be the coolest thing I ever saw.
