So in this bush advertisement (georgewbush.com), they show footage of people getting upset about shit that Bush has done. Then it says that they’re pessimistic and full of rage, and that this isn’t the TIME for pessimissm and rage, this is the time for optimism, steady leadership, and progress.
Watch it, I swear it’s about the worst political commercial I’ve ever seen. That doesn’t count some of the ones on moveon.org (you see the section of it where they compare bush to hitler.. very pessimistic and full of rage)- some of those commercials were a little over the top. The difference is that those were entries in a contest held by an independent group. Participants weren’t paid, and none of the videos were endorsed by anybody but the people who made them. This video was released by Bush, and that’s where I make the distinction.

Government should NOT be “faith based”. You see, we all pay good money. I’m not going to take it on faith that shit is happening. Government work ought to go to the lowest bidder, and there should be a lot of examination to make sure that the work gets done properly, the bid wasn’t artificially low, and that everything is on the up-and-up. Biatch. I hate bush.

It’s official, AIM is turning into malware. This morning i was prompted to upgrade AIM, and the upgrade by default was going to add two more programs. Of course I unchecked the boxes (at least I still have a choice)- but those two programs were disturbing, and I don’t think that many people know why.
The first one was a plugin to allow me to play games with other people on AIM. Why’s that disturbing? I could already play games with people. The reason why it’s disturbing is because the company producing it is Wild Tangent. They are well known among people who use plugins for winamp to be a company with few scruples, and questionable advertising tactics.
The second one is weather bug. This is a program that always runs, uses resources, and used to advertise online with popups. I am not really sure if they still do, or what their status is- but they would have to go a long way before they earn my trust.
Oh yeah, and the upgrade added at least FOUR links for the Netscape internet service provider, only $9.99/month.
Like I said, I’m looking for an AIM replacement. Maybe I’ll just go back to talking to people on the phone.
